First Draft Gallery

First Draft Gallery has become an institution in Sydney’s art scene for over 2 decades, with solo and group shows from emerging and established artists. Julian had a chat to  directors Paul Williams and JD Reforma about running an Artist Run Initiative, their current shows as well as their newest initiative – First Draft After Dark.

After Dark is a fundraising event on March 9 showcasing music, performance, food and art works as well as launching the latest edition of their annual print run, which this year is by artist Joan Ross.

It’s refreshing to talk to people from the support side of art in Sydney, rather than the artist themselves. As directors, curators and also running the business side of the gallery, the guys had a wonderful passion for exposing new work and new ideas, as well as pushing Sydney artists forward.
