A community radio show about a web series about community radio. On tonight’s edition of Something Else Joel & Rhys will be joined by their friends & colleagues from The Drive, a new web series currently being made in Sydney. The series was written by Dave & Neil, an exciting (and sometimes controversial) community radio duo at Alive 90.5FM, who wanted to create a show which could comedically explore the idiosyncrasies of community radio. Something Else’s resident co-hosts got roped into this ambitious project (filming a 12 episode series in 12 days) – Joel as a co-director and the director of photography, and Rhys as an actor starring in the show. They’ll also be joined by the brilliant and always effervescent Emily Sheehan, one of the lead actors.

Tune in to hear what it’s like to create a web series on a shoestring budget and some of the highs and lows of working 18+ hour days to get this thing filmed. We’re sure Dave & Joel will also take the opportunity to complain about the overwhelming amount of editing that is waiting for them and Emily & Rhys might even complain about some of the compromising positions that comedic actors can be (and were) put in.
